American Camera Co. Buckeye #8 Desk Lamp: What a find!!!! This American Camera Co Buckeye #8 camera has been transformed into a stunning Edison lamps.
This camera was made by the American Camera Mfg Co with the last patent date of Nov 6 1895. The company was in business from about 1892 -1897 before being bought out by Eastman. This camera is made of WOOD with a thin leather veneer that is worn in several places. It has the original red/burgundy bellow. The hardware is a mix of brushed antiqued brass and silver toned. Overall this camera has a great patina.
"Patented Feb 25 1890, Nov 6 1895" is inscribed on the inside of the backboard.
This camera shows years of wear but is an amazing tribute to the history of photography.
This camera has a beautiful patina and features a fully dimmable oil rubbed bronze socket allowing you to dial in the perfect amount of light. The 40 watt Edison bulb gives off a warm glow and is fully compatible with the dimmable socket. The cord is a vintage style twisted cloth cord that is 5 feet in length.
